Fishing in Dalyan...
Dalyan means "fishing weir" in Turkish. Bass, Mullet and Sea Bream swim upstream from the sea to Köyceğiz Lake where another large town of the region, Köyceğiz, is located. The fish spawn there, and when returning to the sea they are caught in the "dalyans".
Fishing around Dalyan is prohibited and Dalyan Dalko (the fishing cooperative) controls the fishing grounds.
But always you will be see the people fishing off the jetty by the riverside always. Also you will be find someone to take you fishing, usually near the beach area. Your best bet if there are no organised trips is to ask one of the boat owners or one of the friendly your hotels, villas, restaurants or bar owners and I'm sure they would put you in contact with someone to help.
